Wall and Griffin Are Top of Rookie Class

It looks like the Washington Wizards made the right choice. John Wall is the shining as a rookie and former number one draft pick. The Los Angeles Clippers also have an impressive rookie in Blake Griffin. Griffin missed all of last year with a bad knee. The Clippers waited patiently and now they have a building block in the low post for the future. Eric Gordon is learning to play better. It hasn’t helped in the win column, the Clippers have yet to win a game this season. Griffin is averaging a double-double with 16.8 points per game and 10.3 rebounds per game. Baron Davis has a solid team around him for the first time in a couple of seasons.

Wall is tasked with building a team without Gilbert Arenas around for much longer. After all the turmoil that happened last season, Arenas has to rebuild his image along with helping the Wizards play in a division with the Miami Heat and Orlando Magic. Wall scored 29 points, 13 points and nine steals in front of the home crowd, downing the Philadelphia 76ers 116-115 in overtime. He’s shouldering a lot of the load without Arenas and Josh Howard. He’s an impressive palyer to watch and the Wizards are going to be good for years with Wall running the point.

Both rookies are impressive and fun to watch. Gordon, Griffin and Davis should provide Clippers fans with excitement over the next few seasons. It’s going to be interesting to see how Wall and Arenas play together. Both guys are used to having the ball in their respective hands, so one’s going to have to learn to play without the ball. There’s something that cannot be understated, the future is bright for both the Wizards and Clippers.
