Jackson Predicts Big Changes in Miami

There’s been some concerned reaction to the Miami Heat’s start this season. The team signed Erick Dampier on Tuesday. It was a reaction to Udonis Haslem's latest injury that could sideline the back up forward for the rest of the season. Dampier is going to be another solid veteran presence in the locker-room, plus some quality toughness for the Heat off the bench. The slow maturation of Dwayne Wade, LeBron James and Chris Bosh could also bring about another huge change to the organization. The team only stands at 8-6. Los Angeles Lakers head coach Phil Jackson made an assumption if the struggles continue for Miami.

It would involve the return of Pat Riley behind the bench for the Heat. It would mean that Miami would have to give up another young coaching talent in Erick Spoelestra. They gave up Stan Van Gundy when Riley decided to return to the Heat bench the last time. Riley understands how to get the best out of his players. He coached very talented Lakers teams during the 1980s. He would provide an instant spark and mentor the Big Three to find the right mix to win every night. The team needs a change or else they'll just walk into the playoffs with a slightly above .500 record. They're not an elite team.

They need to figure out how to play together. Most fans thought it would be instant. They did so well in the 2008 Olympics. Well, it takes more than a training camp and sub-par opponents to win a NBA Championship. The Heat will get it together soon, they just need to figure out how to get those three guys playing better. Maybe Riley really is the answer. He's coached high profile players and won. He can certainly do it with these guys. maybe it's what he's been planning all along.
